Felix "Deco Cat" Faassen
Felix Faassen was born on November the 17th 1975. He is inspired by explorers going to places few or no men have ever set foot. Sea men, pilots, astronauts, divers and of course the crew of Star Trek.
Explorers need the experience, technology, knowledge, wisdom and sometimes luck to come back from an adventure to inspire others. This is why Felix is passionate about the outdoors and technology. Felix has been working for more than 13 years in software development and currently employs a software engineering position at the world’s best known satellite car navigation manufacturer in The Netherlands. Next to that he likes hiking, climbing mountains, playing the piano, (one day flying) airplanes and last but not least, diving.
Felix became involved with diving in a few years ago. The more he learned the more he became interested in diving. In 2008/2009 he took a diving sabbatical In Bonaire, Dutch Antilles, where successfully completed his Divemaster and Instructor certification. During a Global Underwater Explorer fundamentals course on Bonaire Felix and Leo met.
Felix is now building up experience diving in cold water in The Netherlands and will continue education through Global Underwater Explorers.
